Understanding What the Mash Is
In the focal point of each and every tooth lies the mash – a living tissue comprising of veins and nerve strands – which is encased in dentine and overlaid with lacquer (the hard, white layer you see over the gums). In a typical sound tooth, the mash is never seen and its presence is rarely felt.
